BHOLA, April 17, 2026 (BSS) - Members of the Coast Guard and police seized 2.3 kilograms of ganja worth around Tk 1 lakh in a joint drive in Bhola.

Media Officer of Bangladesh Coast Guard South Zone Lt. Md. Abul Kashem disclosed the information in a press release today.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team from Coast Guard Base Bhola and Bhola Model Police Station conducted a drive in the South Balia area under Bhola Sadar thana at around 5:00 am, said the release.

During the operation, approximately 2.3 kilograms of ganja was recovered in an abandoned condition from the area.

Legal procedures regarding the seized drugs are underway.

Coast Guard said such operations will continue in the future to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs.
