RAJSHAHI, May 25, 2026 (BSS) - Various programs have been undertaken in Rajshahi to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Azha, the religious festival of devout Muslims, with due dignity, solemnity, and in a joyful atmosphere.

The main Eid congregation will be held at 7:30 am next Thursday at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R.) Central Eidgah Maidan in Rajshahi.

The time was fixed at a preparatory meeting held on May 18, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam.

As per the decision of the meeting, if the main congregation cannot be held at the central Eidgah due to adverse weather condition, the Eid prayer will be held at 8:00 am at the Hazrat Shah Makhdum (R.) Dargah Jame Mosque.

In addition, congregations at Eidgahs across Rajshahi city and at the upazila level will be held at times set by the respective management authorities. Security at the Eidgah will be monitored round-the-clock.

Meanwhile, on the occasion of holy Eid-ul-Azha, the authorities concerned will serve improved meals at a convenient time on that day at hospitals, jails, orphanages, child centers, Shishu Paribar, Shishu Palli, Shishu Sadan, Chhoto Moni Nibash, child development centers, safe homes, and similar institutions.

The Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) will take necessary measures to remove waste as quickly as possible.

To protect the environment, RCC has urged city residents not to dump sacrificial animal waste indiscriminately, but to dispose it off at designated places.
