Govt allows tax rebate on donations to 11 public welfare organisations

DHAKA, June 15, 2026 (BSS) - The government has approved a tax rebate facility on donations made to 11 recognised public welfare organisations to encourage charitable and welfare activities.

The Internal Resources Division (IRD) under the Ministry of Finance recently issued a notification in this regard.

The facility has been provided under Section 76(1) of the Income Tax Act, 2023.

According to the notification, individual taxpayers who make donations to the approved organisations will be eligible for tax rebates in line with the provisions of the Income Tax Act.

The approved organisations include ASHIC Foundation for Childhood Cancer, Bangladesh Cancer Aid Trust, Al-Markazul Islami, Disabled Child Foundation, Sherpur Diabetic Association, Mawna Diabetic Association, Bangladesh Thalassemia Samity, Autism Welfare Foundation, BRAC, Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, and Dhaka and Chittagong Maa-O-Shishu Hospital.

The notification will come into effect on July 1, 2026, and remain valid until June 30, 2030.
