PM hands job letters to family members of disappearance victims, July martyrs

DHAKA, Aug 29, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today handed over job appointment letters to members of the families of victims of enforced disappearances and killings, as well as families of martyrs of the July mass uprising.

The premier himself handed over the appointment letters to 10 recipients, out of 74, at a ceremony held at Karabi Hall of the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon this afternoon.

Prime Minister's Additional Press Secretary Atikur Rahman Ruman said appointment letters were handed over to 74 people from families affected by enforced disappearances and killings and the July uprising, while the Prime Minister personally handed over letters to 10 of them.

The recipients who received appointment letters from the Prime Minister included Ishfaq Ahmed, brother of missing Iftekhar Ahmed Dinar; Moniruzzaman Hira, brother of Nuruzzaman Jony; Anan Hossain Noor, brother of Anwar Hossain Mahbub; Hasnain Reza, brother of Selim Reza Pintu; and Shammi Sultana, wife of Khaled Hossain Sohel.

The recipients from the July Mass Uprising included injured July fighter Alal Ahmed, who lost his eyesight; Md Abul Hossain, father of martyr Alvi; Jartaj Parvin, mother of martyr Ahnaf; injured fighter Kazi Saimum Siraj; and Mahbub Alam, brother of martyr Israfil Islam.

The recipients expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Tarique Rahman for providing the jobs and demanded justice for those responsible for enforced disappearances and killings.

Family members affected by enforced disappearances and killings and injured persons spoke and shared their feelings with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the programme, conducted by Atikur Rahman Ruman, also convener of 'Amra BNP Paribar'.

Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Gani, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister ABM Abdus Sattar, PM's Press Secretary AAM Saleh Shibly, Deputy Press Secretaries Jahidul Islam Rony and Hasan Shiplu, Md. Suzauddhowla (Sujan Mahmud), Shahadat Shadhin, Assistant Press Secretary AKM Nazmul Haque, Gazi Shahriar Pamir and members of BNP Amar Paribar, including Mokshedul Momin Mithun, were present.
