DHAKA, Jan 03, 2024 (BSS)- Taking advantage of digital device, many women
entrepreneurs have started their online businesses and becoming successful.
Easy access to digital devices and available internet service at a lower cost, helping them to run their online shops.
There are stories of such four successful women entrepreneurs.
Arifa Parveen Liza is a lecturer at a local college in Kushtia.
She wanted to become an entrepreneur alongside his teaching profession. This young lady has started her business by selling various types of homemade sweets. Sweet is her signature product. The mentally strong and firm-committed woman has supplied sweets in all 64 districts during the COVID-19 period.
Not only Bangladesh, Arifa sent her sweets to 12 countries. She earned more than five lakh taka by selling sweets through online in two years.
“Corona had come to my life as changing point of fate. If corona didn’t come, I couldn’t be an entrepreneur. I like to introduce myself as an entrepreneur. My family always supports my work.
My husband and brother help me a lot. I have faced some obstacles also. But my near and dear
ones always inspired me,” she said.
Afroza Anika launched her powdered spices business online in 2019 by opening a Facebook
page.
In the beginning, she had Tk 1,500 capital which now stands more than one lakh taka.
Currently, the young entrepreneur sells 12 types of powdered spices. She became successful
within a short time and earned more than Tk two lakh by selling only powdered spices.
“At first I tried to sell powdered spices through my Facebook profile and other Facebook groups.
Gradually my authentic products got the attention of the customers and got huge popularity.
Later, I opened a Facebook page.
At the start, I sold 5-10kg of powdered spices in a month which is three times higher every week.
Now I have no financial problem. I am not scared to do anything and overcome all sorts of situations with courage. Being a self-reliant person, now I am very happy.
Food lover Farzana Afroz works with frozen food and dessert items through an online platform.
People like her tasty food very much. Within a very short time, she got success in the online food business.
Afroz said, “During COVID-19, thousands of women entrepreneurs started doing business
through online.
I had a plan and I am moving forward with it. Although my life was not a smooth one, now I am fully satisfied with my earnings and livelihood. Online business gives me a new identity.”
Rubaida Riyat Rakhi has been working with homemade food for four years in Dhaka by
breaking tradition. She started her food business considering busy job holders and bachelors of
the capital. Rakhi makes around 100 types of vorta (A mixture of mashed vegetables, fish, dry
fish, lentils and other elements in the cuisine of the Indian subcontinent) and various types of regional food. At one stage she got food orders from nearly 500 customers and became
successful using an online platform.
Describing her success, Rakhi said, “The journey is not so easy for everyone like me. Diligence and patience are pre-condition to success in a business. The work of cooking is not so easy.
Cooking needs hard work. But, I never stopped for any kind of obstacle and never compromised
with my work.
I take cooking as a passion and try to do my work attentively. I think success
means hard work and patience.
Whatever the work is, everyone will have to respect their respective work. Hard work will fix your future,” She added.
