DHAKA, Jan 11, 2024 (BSS) - Awami League Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud has been appointed as the foreign minister in the new cabinet today.

The Cabinet Division issued a gazette notification to this end. 

Dr Hasan was the Information and Broadcasting Minister of the last AL government.

Previously, he served in various capacities of the government. Dr Hasan was the chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change during 2014 to 2019.

In addition, he served as the Environment & Forest Minister of the government from August 2009 to January 2014, while he was the State Minister for Foreign Affairs during 2009 to August 2009.
