BUET, VIT sign MoU for academic collaboration

DHAKA, Jan 22, 2024 (BSS)- Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), India have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for academic collaboration.

Under the agreement, BUET and VIT will strengthen research collaborations and exchange of students and faculty members, concerned sources said.

Vice Chancellor of BUET Prof. Satya Prasad Majumdar and Pro-Vice-Chancellor of VIT Prof. Partha Sharathi Mallick signed the MOU on behalf of their respective sides on January 17, 2024.

The agreement will create scope for students of Bangladesh studying in VIT to conduct their research work and other cross cultural activities, sources said. 

The international relations office of both the universities has undertaken the initiative in 2023. VIT already signed similar agreement with a number of other universities of Bangladesh including Independent University (IUB), ULab and Daffodil International University (DIU). 

Dr G Viswanathan, Chancellor of Vellore Institute of Technology said, the MoU with Bangladeshi universities particularly BUET will play an important role in improving academic performance and overall development of students of both the counties.

Vice Chancellor of BUET thanked the members of the team worked for academic collaboration between BUET and VIT.
