RAJSHAHI, June 20, 2024 (BSS)- Practical education can be the crucial means of generating smart workforces as it can reduce the gradually mounting pressure of unemployment substantially.
Currently, utmost emphasis has been given on promoting practical education with the main thrust of transforming the young generation into worthy citizens coupled with freeing the country from unemployment.
Educational experts came up with the observation while addressing the opening ceremony of a two-day training course for the district and upazila level educational officers here today.
Higher Secondary Teachers Training Institute (HSTTI) organized the training titled "Expansion, Dissemination, Monitoring and Mentoring of New Curriculum" at its conference hall.
Prof Shafiqur Rahman, MP, addressed the opening session as the chief guest, while HSTTI Director Wahedul Kabir Sohrawardi was in the chair.
Deputy Director (Dissemination of New Curriculum Scheme) of the Department of Higher Education Dr Kudrat-E-Huda, Training Specialist Muhammad Akhteruzzaman, Rajshahi Regional Director Prof Biswajit Banerjee and Deputy Director Dr Shormin Ferdous Chowdhury also spoke.
In his remarks, lawmaker Prof Shafiqur Rahman termed the present education curriculum as time-fitting and demand-driven as it expedites the process of flourishing creativity of students and employment as a whole.
He said many people are seen criticizing the education curriculum due to their ignorance, whereas there is no alternative to promote practical education for boosting the number of competent workforce.
In the present era of the fourth industrial revolution, it's impossible to go ahead without a specific mission and vision. That's why the present government has adopted time-fitting and need-oriented steps and has been working relentlessly to transform the students into skilled human resources.
He urged the attending education officers to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty so that the target people can derive total benefits of the education curriculum.
