RANGPUR, Sept 26, 2024 (BSS) - Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) will be turned into a centre of excellence in higher education and research of international standard.
 
“Priority will be given to those activities which will benefit the students in building their careers and develop a positive image of the university,” Vice-Chancellor of the university Professor Dr. Md. Shawkat Ali said today.
 
He said this while addressing two  views-exchange meetings with the students of the Departments of Mathematics and Computer Science and Engineering held at the respective departments, a university press release said tonight.
 
The Vice-Chancellor said necessary steps would be taken to develop the university as a centre of excellence in higher education and research of global standard through ensuring a congenial academic atmosphere in the varsity. 
 
To attain the goal, he sought cooperation of all stakeholders, including students, teachers and civil society figures. 
 
Regarding the necessity of ensuring an improved academic atmosphere, the Vice-Chancellor said, “If there is good relationship between students and teachers exists, the environment of education will improve in the campus.” 
 
Teachers and students of Mathematics and Computer Science and Engineering Departments of the university attended the events.
