DHAKA, Oct 5, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted light to moderate rain at most places over the country for the next 24 hours beginning from 9 this morning.
"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and at many places over Rangpur, Khulna and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at some places over the country", it said.
The low pressure area over North Bay of Bengal & adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh-West Bengal persists. Monsoon trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.
Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong elsewhere over North Bay.
Day and night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
Country's highest temperature on Friday was recorded 33.3 degrees Celsius at Koyra and minimum temperature today was recorded 23.5 degrees Celsius at Sayedpur.
Highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 250 millimeters (mm) at Chandpur.
The sun sets at 05:42 PM today and rises at 05:52 AM tomorrow in the capital.
