DHAKA, Nov 17, 2024 (BSS)- The 48th death anniversary of Mozlum Jananeta Maulana Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani was observed in the capital and elsewhere in the country in a befitting manner.

Different political and socio-cultural organizations arranged different programmes on the occasion at Santosh in Tangail and Dhaka.

Vice chancellor of Maulana Bhashani Science and Technology University Professor Dr Anwarul Azim Akhand and Gano Adhikar Parishad placed floral wreaths at Bhashani's grave at Santosh this morning. Rally, discussion and doa mahfil were also arranged there.

A seven-day Mela was kicked off at the shrine of Maulana Bhashani today. A huge number of Bhashani disciples thronged the shrine to pay homage to the late leader.

Founder president of Muslim Awami League Maulana Bhashani died on November 17 in 1976 at the then PG Hospital in the capital and buried in Tangail.
 
National Awami Party (NAP-Bhashani) arranged the discussion marking Bhashani’s 48th death anniversary at city’s Bangladesh Shishu Kalyan Parishad on Topkhana road.

Speakers said Maulana Bhashani was a political leader fought for establishing the rights of the oppressed people in his whole life.

They said Bhashani wanted to change the lots of toiling masses and never bowed down to anybody as he loved the people.

Chairman of the Jatiya Swadhinata Party (JSP) Moazzam Hossain Khan Majlis, Prof. Nurun Nabi, labour leader Abul Hossain and leader of Jatiya Somajtantrik Dal Humayun Kabir, spoke, among others, on the occasion.
 
President of the party Swapan Kumar Saha was in the chair and Secretary General Hamida Khatoon Shali conducted the meeting.

Khan Majlis said the nation is direly needed a political leader like Bhashani in this crucial time.

Bhashani had played a vital role in many political crisis, he said urging his followers to forge unity to establish the right of exploited and deprived people.

Jatiya Krishak Samity and Khet Mojoor Union arranged a discussion marking 48th death anniversary of Moulana Bhashani at it’s office on Topkhana road.

Speakers said Maulana Bhashani had struggled for establishing the rights of the poor and farmer.

President of Jatiya Krishak Samity Aminul Islam Golap presided over the meeting and general secretary of Khet Mojoor Union Zakir Hossain Razu conducted it.

Jatiya Krishak Samity general secretary Mahmudul Hasan Manik, farmers leader Noor Ahmed Bakul, among others, took part in the discussion.
