NAOGAON, Jan 19, 2025 (BSS) - The Local Government Department today handed
over cheques as financial aid to the family members of nine martyrs who
sacrificed their lives during the July uprising in the district.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Abdul Awal handed over the cheques of Taka
two lakh to each of the martyr families at a function held at his conference
room as the chief guest.

The martyrs of the district are Russell Rana, Fahmid Jafar, Biplob Mondal,
Shakil Anwar, Ash Sabur, Bayezid Bostami, Mahfuz Alam Shraban, Raihan Ali and
Ridwan Sharif Riyad.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police
Gaziur Rahman, Additional Deputy Commissioner AH Irfan Uddin Ahmed, Deputy
Director of the District Social Services Department Nur Mohammad, Shaheed
Fahmin Jafar's mother Kazi Lulul Makhmin, student activist Arman Hossain
spoke at the event, among others.
