Court orders attachment of 9 properties of ex-MP Golap in USA

DHAKA, Jan 19, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered authorities concerned to attach nine immovable properties owned by former Member of Parliament (MP) and Awami League leader Abdus Sobhan Golap and his family members in the USA.

Besides, the court also ordered to freeze 53 bank accounts in their names.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The said properties were bought in the names of Golap, his wife Gulshan Ara, son Ivan Sobhan and daughter Anisha Golap. Apart from the nine properties in the USA, the court also ordered to attach Abdus Sobhan Golap's one five-storied building in the capital's Mirpur.

The same court on October 2 imposed travel ban on Abdus Sobhan Golap.
