Navy detains 20 people, including human traffickers, in Teknaf

DHAKA, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS) – Bangladesh Navy conducted a joint operation in Baharchhara area of Teknaf under Cox's Bazar district and detained 20 people, including human traffickers, in the early hours of today.

The detainees were on the way to go to Malaysia illegally, said a release of the Directorate of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) this evening.

Of the total, one was identified as human trafficker, two Bangladeshi nationals and 17 forcibly displaced Myanmar nationals (Rohingyas). Later, they were handed over to Teknaf police, the ISPR added.
