EC launches works to update voters list in Narsingdi

NARSINGDI, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS) – Election Commission (EC) officials today said they launched works for updating voters’ list, visiting households in the district.

   “Those who were born on January 1 or before the date are eligible to be enrolled in the list as voters,” EC-appointed information collector Md Razib Khandkar said.

   He said new voters will have to submit copies of their birth registration certificate both in Bangla and English, National Identification Number (NID) of their father and mother, education certificate, blood group and mobile phone number as evidence.

   District Election Officer Mohammad Shahin Akand said that 175 headmasters and 819 assistant teachers will work as supervisors and information collectors respectively for updating the voters list.

 He said the data gathering campaign will continue until February 3.
