DHAKA, Jan 21, 2025 (BSS) - A writ was filed at the High Court today, pleading for its direction to probe allegations of corruption against the chairman of National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB).

Supreme Court lawyer Md Kamal Hossain filed the writ today, making officials concerned, including the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) chairman and the Education Secretary respondents.

"NCTB has given work order for printing books without calling for fresh tender, even though the owners of the printing presses have submitted tender at about 21 percent more than the estimated price," Md Kamal Hossain told newsmen.

The pleader also said, by giving the work order, NCTB has wasted state money. He lodged an application with the ACC first and later filed the writ.
