ICT team visiting Narail, Jashore to probe mass-uprising violence

DHAKA, Jan 22, 2025 (BSS) – A joint team of prosecution and investigation agency of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) is visiting Narail and Jashore to probe incidents of violence those took place in the two districts during the student-led July-August mass-uprising and collected evidences in this regard.

Confirming the matter to BSS, ICT prosecutor BM Sultan Mahmud said the team led by him and probe body deputy assistant director Masud Pervej went to Naraila on January 21 and will go to Jashore today.

“We have visited Lohagara, Narail Sadar and Naragati yesterday and today and recorded statements of 30 witnesses and victims so far. We have also visited places of occurrence and talked to family members of the martyrs,” BM Sultan Mahmud said.

He also said the officers-in-charge of the concerned police stations were present, among others, during their visits.

The ICT prosecutor further said they would leave Narail for Jashore this afternoon and is scheduled to return to Dhaka on January 24.
