DHAKA, Jan 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD)
have been operating mobile courts with the support of RAJUK and
district and upazila administrations to increase fire safety across the
country.

“So far, a total of 37 mobile courts have been operated across the country
in January. Out of these, the maximum number of mobile courts has been
operated in Dhaka division. A fine of Taka 41.65 lakh has been realized
through mobile courts so far due to inadequate fire safety in various
establishments,” said a press release of the force.

Since the Fire Service does not have its own magistrate, mobile courts are
being operated in cooperation with the district and upazila
administrations and the RAJUK magistrate in Dhaka.

The FSCD has initiated the measures in commercial and industrial
establishments as fire accidents increase especially during winter.

To increase fire awareness, it said, the force regularly conducts various
activities including drills, mass communication, training, and leaflet
distribution.

In addition, Fire Service inspectors regularly inspect and issue notices to
various establishments to bring them under fire safety.
