DHAKA, Feb 6, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to freeze a total 28 bank accounts of former health minister Zahid Maleque and his son Rahar Maleque over graft charges.

Of the 28 bank accounts, 16 are of Zahid and 12 belong to Rahar.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing two separate petitions of Deputy Director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Fazlul Haque.

In the petition Fazlul Haque said the father-son duo are accused of making suspicious transactions through their accounts and are allegedly trying to relocate the money they earned illegally.

For the sake of proper investigation, their account should be frozen, he said.

After hearing the court asked for freezing the accounts.
