One killed in Jhenaidah clash

JHENAIDAH, Feb 11, 2025 (BSS) – A man was killed and seven others were
injured in a clash between two rival groups over establishing supremacy at
Hakimpur village under Harinakundu upazila of the district today.


The deceased was Mosarraf Hossain, 42, son of Khabir Mandol, resident of the
same area.


Delwar Hossain Dulu and Sayed of the same area had a long-standing conflict
over establishing supremacy in the area, said MA Rauf Khan, Officer-in-Charge
(OC) Harinakundu Police Station.


The clash erupted this morning between the two groups when some people
attacked Mosarraf over a trifle matter.


Mosarraf Hossain, a member of Delwar Hossain’s group, was seriously injured in
the clash and died at Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital while undergoing treatment, the
OC said.

Apart from this, at least five others from both the groups were injured in the
incident.

Police arrested a man named Muhin, 55, from the village in this connection.
