DHAKA, Feb 20, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam today urged researchers to record information about every incident, including injustice, oppression and murder in Sheikh Hasina’s 15-year tenure.

"Every incident of Sheikh Hasina's 15-year rule needs to be recorded so that none becomes a monster after coming to power," he said.

He made the call while addressing a book's cover unveiling ceremony of Professor Md Shah Alam's 'Sera Songkolon: Hridoye July-36' at Tofazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here as the chief guest.

Chief Adviser's Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder and Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor's Press Wing Foyez Ahammad also spoke at the event.

Recalling the brutality of July uprising in 2024, Shafiqul said it is necessary to record information about the murders committed against students and the public who opposed discrimination throughout July-August.

Noting that there are many books on what happened in Germany in World War II, Shafiqul Alam said the events of the 15 years of the previous Sheikh Hasina government should be kept as a history.

"Our government is working on this issue. Human rights organizations have reported a lot on the events of the previous government's 15 years," he added.

Highlighting the misrule of Sheikh Hasina's government, he said the law enforcement agencies have turned an ordinary person into a militant for grabbing promotion.

“About 500 students and people lost their eye sights in the July-August movement. Many people could not stay at home peacefully as many cases were filed against them in the previous government's tenure. Later, they came to Dhaka and continued to maintain their livelihood through driving profession using Uber and Pathao apps or rickshaws. This information should be preserved,” he said.
