BNP outlines 19 proposals to uplift Rangpur

RANGPUR, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) - Rangpur Metropolitan BNP held a consultation meeting today, presenting its development vision for the Rangpur-3 constituency ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election.

Rangpur Metropolitan BNP convener Shamsuzzaman Samu outlined 19 proposals at the meeting titled "Prosperous Rangpur" at the Rangpur District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center auditorium.

Metropolitan BNP Members including Sultan Alam Bulbul, Principal Maqbul Hossain, Assistant Professor Shahinul Islam Shahin, Jamil Khan, Rezaul Karim Lablu, and other leaders and activists attended the meeting.

In a written statement, Samu emphasized youth self-reliance, employment creation, and a collateral-free loan programme for the educated unemployed to boost industrialization. He also stressed reducing inequality, ensuring fair budget allocation, empowering women, and creating space for independent voices.

He pledged to make Shyamasundari Canal health- and environment-friendly, develop Rangpur as a hub for IT, education, and health, and implement programmes to promote planned housing, urbanization, modern agriculture, agro-based industries, and export of local products including Haribhanga mangoes and potatoes.

Samu said his vision includes establishing a science and technology university, expanding technical education to reduce unemployment, strengthening health services, and eliminating economic inequality through a meaningful roadmap.

Local journalists at the event also presented recommendations for Rangpur's development.
