Over 4.34 lakh children, adolescents to be vaccinated in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Oct 7, 2025 (BSS) - Around 4,34,000 children and adolescents in Manikganj will receive vaccinations across all seven upazilas and two municipalities of the district. 

The campaign is scheduled to begin on October 12 and continue until November 25.

The announcement was made during a day-long 'Typhoid Vaccination Consultation Workshop' attended by local journalists at the Deputy Commissioner's conference room today.

According to Dr. Promiti Sarker, Medical Officer of the Civil Surgeon's Office, the vaccination drive will cover children and adolescents from Play Group to Class Nine or equivalent. 

The programme will be conducted through 1,600 educational institutions and seven fixed vaccination centers. Additionally, 1,593 outreach vaccination sites will be kept ready for immediate use.

The workshop was chaired by District Information Officer Mohammad Nur Hossain, while Deputy Commissioner Dr. Manwar Hossein Malla attended as the chief guest.

Officials said all necessary preparations are underway to ensure the successful implementation of the vaccination programme.
