CHT adviser mourns death of journo Maksud Ahmed

DHAKA, Feb 21, 2025 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of journalist AKM Maksud Ahmed.
 
In a message of condolence, the adviser prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
 
AKM Maksud Ahmed, editor of the first newspaper published from CHT named the 'Dainik Giridarpan,' died of a stroke on Thursday night.
 
AKM Maksud Ahmed had been in journalism for 56 years. He started his career as the Rangamati district correspondent of Dainik Ittefaq and served there until his death.
 
He first published the weekly 'Banabhumi' from Rangamati in 1979. Later, he started publishing the 'Dainik Giridarpan' in 1983.
