CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Feb 23, 2025 (BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Professor Dr Bidhan Ranjan Roy Poddar today said his ministry’s main goal is to ensure proper education for primary school children as they can write, read and express their thoughts in their own language.

“Children need to be prepared properly in two subjects: mathematics and science. One is literacy, the other is numeracy or mathematical language,” he said while exchanging views with the officials of district administration and primary education on ensuring quality primary education at the conference room of deputy commissioner office here.

Bidhan said, “Children should be able to read, learn, and understand mathematics. What is a number? What is an arithmetic operation?”

He said, “Our job is to strengthen primary education if we want to reduce social inequality. Then the children of middle and lower middle class families in the society will become competent and social inequality will decrease.”

Directorate of Primary Education Director Imamul Islam, among others, spoke at the event with Deputy Commissioner Md Abdus Samad in the chair.
