SAVAR, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - A fire broke out at the godown of the Pakiza Dyeing and Printing Industries factory in Savar around 9am today.

After receiving the alarm, three fire engines from Savar Fire Service rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control. As the fire's intensity increased, two additional units from the Savar Tannery Fire Service joined the effort.

After two hours of combined efforts, five fire service units successfully brought the blaze under control.

Savar Fire Service Senior Station Officer Md. Nurul Islam said that the fire is initially believed to have been caused by an electrical short circuit.

"The exact extent of the damage will be assessed after a thorough investigation," he added.
