Quality education, research will further enrich BRUR: VC

RANGPUR, Feb 24, 2025 (BSS) - Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Vice-chancellor 
Professor Dr. Md. Showkat Ali has said that quality education and research activities will further 
enrich the university. 
 
"To achieve this goal, it is very necessary for students to acquire skills in research activities along with academic studies," he said while virtually addressing a seminar titled 'Japan Foundation Indo-Pacific Partnership Program Fellowship' held at the virtual classroom of the university's Academic Building-2 as the chief guest on Monday. 
 
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university with assistance of the Japan 
Foundation organised the seminar participated by the teachers and students from different 
departments of the university.
 
The Vice-chancellor thanked the Japan Foundation for organizing this seminar at Begum Rokeya University. 
 
He said that the current administration of the university has introduced various co-curricular 
activities including English Language, German Language and Basic Computer courses for the 
development of various types of skills of the students. 
 
“All these steps will facilitate the research activities of the students and their pursuit of higher 
education abroad,” he hoped. 
 
At this time, he told the teachers and students that acquiring skills in research will further enrich 
the university by advancing the rankings of their respective departments as well as the university. 

Chaired by the Director of the IQAC of BRUR Professor Dr. Md. Tajul Islam and Dean of the 
Faculty of Engineering and Technology Professor Dr. Md. Mizanur Rahman addressed the 
seminar as special guests. 
 
Director General (South Asia) of the Japan Foundation Mr. Koji Sato and Executive Director of 
Pan-Asia Research Institute at Tokyo and Faculty Member of the University of Dhaka Professor 
Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun addressed the event as guest speakers.
