Joint force to launch combined operations to curb crimes, nab criminals

DHAKA, Feb 25, 2025(BSS) -The joint force comprising Army, Police, Navy, 
BGB, Coast Guard and Ansar will launch combined operations soon in and 
outside the capital to nab the criminals for improving the overall law and order 
situation.

The decision was taken at the core committee meeting of the home ministry held 
at the Secretariat yesterday with Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Rtd) Md 
Jahangir Alam Chowdhury in the chair. 

The meeting was attended, among others, by Local Government Adviser Asif 
Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, Public Works and Housing Adviser Adilur Rahman 
Khan, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for home affairs Khoda Box 
Chowdhury and senior officials of the ministry and its different departments.

The meeting also instructed the concerned authorities to make Thana wise update 
list of the criminals for arresting them immediately. It has decided to increase the 
number of check posts at the important points of the city and enhance the patrol 
of the law enforcement agencies. 

The members of the Navy and the Coast Guards will also be on patrol on some 
important roads and areas of the capital. Some 500 members of the Armed Police 
Battalion will also be engaged with the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to 
maintain law and order in the capital.  

The meeting also decided to procure adequate number of motorcycles for the 
members of the DMP, BGB, Ansar and Coast Guard to help them nab the 
criminals from the lanes and by lanes of the metropolis. 

The core committee also decided to enhance the patrol of the law and order forces 
outside the capital especially in Tongi, Bashila, Keraniganj and Munshiganj areas.

The meeting also instructed the on- duty senior officials specially the Deputy 
Police Commissioners and Army Brigade Commanders to brief the media time to 
time about the outcome of the operations.

It also instructed the concerned authorities to take various measures including 
highlighting the truth against the false, rumor and propagandas.
