2 drug peddlers held with Yaba from Bailey Road

DHAKA, Mar 4, 2025 (BSS) – Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested two professional drug peddlers along with a large quantity Yaba from the capital’s Bailey Road.
 
The arrested two were identified as Md. Bappi Mallick, 37 and Md. Rubel Mia, 35, said a media release of DMP today.   

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB, Gulshan Division, conducted a raid on Tuesday at about 12:10 midnight and arrested the duo from in front of the Girl Guides Association on Bailey Road with 2050 pieces of yaba.

Police said the estimated value of the seized Yaba is Taka 6 lakh.

During the initial interrogation, the duo confessed that they have been involved in the drug trade for a long time and the seized Yaba tablets were kept in their possession for sale.

Legal action is underway against them.
