DB arrests two with Yaba tablets in city

DHAKA, March 4, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Detective Branch (DB) has arrested two drug peddlers along with a huge quantity of Yaba tablets in the city's Baily Road area in the early hours of today.

The arrested have been identified as Md. Bappi Mallick, 37, and Md. Rubel Mia, 35.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police from the Gulshan division conducted a drive in front of the Bangladesh Girls Guide Association in the Bailey Road area under the Ramna police station around 12:10 am and arrested them with a huge quantity of Yaba tablets worth about Tk 6 lakh.

A total of 2,050 pieces of Yaba were recovered from their possession.
Confirming the arrest, Deputy Police Commissioner of the DMP (Media and Public Relations Division), Muhammad Talebur Rahman, said legal action has been taken against the arrestees.
