Two drug peddlers held with 1024 yaba tablets

DHAKA, Mar 05, 2025 (BSS) - The DMP's DB-Gulshan Division 
has arrested two alleged drug peddlers and seized 1024 pieces 
of contraband yaba tablets from the city’s Hatirjheel area. 

The arrestees are -Halima Begum (60) and Yasmin (25), 
according to DMP press release issued here today.

It said on a tip-off, the DB Gulshan Division arrested them from 
a sidewalk in front of Nurjahan Tower at about 10:30 last night 
under Hatirjheel Police Station. 

Police searched their bodies and found 1024 pieces of yaba 
tablets, the release said. 

It said a case under the Narcotics Control Act was registered 
with Hatirjheel Police Station in this connection.

The DMP release said that Halima and Yasmin are active 
members of a professional drug trafficking gang. 

During preliminary interrogation, they confessed that they kept 
yaba in their possession for sale.

Legal process is underway against the arrested drug peddlers.
