DMP imposes ban on rallies near Secretariat, Jamuna from today

DHAKA, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today banned any kind of rally, gathering and procession near Bangladesh Secretariat, the Chief Adviser's official residence Jamuna and its surrounding areas from today until further order.

In a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali said the ban was imposed by virtue of the powers vested in Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76),

The ban also covers the capital's Hotel Inter Continental intersection, Shahbagh intersection, Kakrail intersection and Mintoo Road.

According to the notice, the ban was imposed in the interest of maintaining public order.
