BRUR to be a centre of excellence: VC

RANGPUR, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Md Showkat Ali said today that the university will be turned into a centre of excellence through enhancing quality education, research and innovations.

The Vice Chancellor sought cooperation of all quarters to realize mission and vision of the university.

Prof Showkat made the remarks as chief guest at a workshop titled 'Determining Mission and Vision' held at the syndicate room of the university's administrative building.

Emphasising importance of setting goals for BRUR to hold a position in the world university rankings, he said, "The mission and vision of this institution will decide the position of the university on the global stage that we want to see it in the future."

BRUR Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Director Prof Dr Md Tajul Islam presided over the event and Additional Director Dr Md Abdur Rakib presented the keynote paper.

Prof Dr Sarifa Salwa Dina of Bangla, Prof Dr Md Matiur Rahman of Management Studies, arts faculty dean Prof Dr Shafiqur Rahman, social sciences faculty dean Prof Dr Md Morshed Hossain, science faculty dean Prof Kamlesh Chandra Roy, engineering and technology faculty dean Prof Dr Md Mizanur Rahman, life and earth sciences faculty dean Prof Dr Md Emdadul Haque, business studies faculty dean Prof Md Ferdous Rahman and IQAC additional director Dr Md Abdul Latif attended the event, among others.
