DHAKA, March 13, 2025 (BSS) – The fact-finding committee has identified more than hundred people who were involved in the attacks on Dhaka University (DU) students during the July Uprising from July 15 to August 5.

Kazi Mahfuzul Islam Supon, convener of the fact-finding committee on the July attacks and associate professor of the law department, submitted the 550- page report to Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan at the lounge adjacent to the DU VC office here today.

Committee convener Supon said, "We have tried to include all the attacks that took place at Dhaka University from July 15 to August 5 during the July movement in this report."

"We saw that the attacks were carried out on female students at Dhaka University on July 15 in a planned manner. We have found direct evidence of the involvement of DU students also in those violent attacks," he added.

When asked about the process by which the report was prepared, the convener of the committee said, "Since we did not find any CCTV footages regarding the attacks, we have sent an email and contact number to the students seeking information and evidences about the attacks. The students have sent various pictures and videos of the attacks in July."

Besides, the committee prepared the report based on the news that they saw in the national and international newspapers, he added.

Dhaka University authorities formed the four-member fact-finding committee to identify those involved in the violent incidents that took place on the university campus between July 15 and August 5.
