Magura rape victim laid to rest

DHAKA, March 13, 2025 (BSS) - Eight-year-old girl, who died at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) today after being tortured a week ago, was laid to eternal rest tonight.

The child was buried around 8:30 pm, hours after her body was brought to Magura stadium by a helicopter, at sonaikundi combined Eidgah and graveyard at her village home at Jaria village in Sreepur upazila of Magura district.

Second namaz-e-janaza of the child was held at the Sonaikundi Government Primary School field in Sreepur upazila. Her first namaz-e-janaza was held after Maghrib prayers at Magura Nomani Maidan around 7:00pm.

Hundreds of people from various parts of Magura participated in the janazas.


The incident took place on the night of March 5 when the victim visited her sister's in-laws' house in the village in Magura's Sadar upazila.

She was initially admitted to Magura General Hospital and later transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital as her condition deteriorated.

On Thursday, she was moved to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) before being shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka.
