DHAKA, March 16, 2025 (BSS) – Police today arrested an organizer of the banned outfit Hizb ut-Tahrir from the capital.

The arrestee has been identified as Monayem Haider, 26, a publicist of the organization.

A team of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) apprehended Monayem in a raid conducted in the city based on secret information, said a press release.

Police said Monayem had been involved in spreading the organization’s ideology by creating fake Facebook pages under different names.

Legal action against him is underway.
