Travel ban imposed on ex-lawmaker Wahed

DHAKA, March 17, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former Mymensingh-11 lawmaker Mohammed Abdul Wahed over graft allegations.
 
 
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order, allowing a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
 
 
The anti-graft body in its plea said it is probing allegations of amassing illegal wealth and laundering money against the former lawmaker. It has also received information of undeclared properties against Wahed and his family members in home and abroad. 
 
 
"The accused may try to flee the country to evade justice and the travel ban should be imposed on him," the ACC plea added.
