NLASO realizes Tk 243.38 crore for compensating insolvent litigants

DHAKA, March 18, 2025 (BSS) - National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO) realized Taka 243,38,57,597, from 2009 to February, 2025, as compensation for insolvent justice seekers.

Publishing the information through its monthly update on its website, the statutory organization of the government under the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, said that of the money, Taka 236,75,31,382 was realized through 64 district legal aid offices, while Taka 6,63,26,215 was realized through two labour law aid cells in Dhaka and Chattogram. 
 
The government through NLASO has also provided free legal aid to 11, 82,767 people across the country during the time. 

Of the total number of service receivers, 28,761 people were given legal aid from Supreme Court Legal Aid Office (SCLAO), 9,39,831 people from 64 district legal aid offices, 29,117 people from two labour law aid cells, and 1,85,058 people were given free legal advice through toll-free number'16430'.
