1,549 cases filed for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, April 10, 2025 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) has filed 1,549 cases in a single day for violating traffic 
rules in the capital.

A media release of the DMP today said that they filed those cases and 
realized the money on Wednesday (April 9) through their regular drives 
against the traffic rule breakers.

A total of 274 motor vehicles were dumped and 117 vehicles were wrecked due 
to poor driving practices during the campaign, said Talebur Rahman, deputy 
commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of the DMP.

"The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets," the 
release said, adding that the DMP has been working to bring the traffic 
system under smooth in the capital for giving city dwellers easy movement.
