28,943 students remain absent on 2nd day of SSC, equivalent exams

DHAKA, April 15, 2025 (BSS) – A total of 28,943 examinees were absent on the second day of the SSC and equivalent exams. 
 
The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent exams began across the country on April 10 amid tight security measures.
 
The information was reveled today through a press release signed by Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Chairman and Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers' Committee President Professor Dr Khandaker Ehasanul Kabir. 
 
Talking to BSS, Ehasanul Kabir said that SSC exams are being held in a peaceful atmosphere across the country.
 
He hoped that the next exams will also be held in a peaceful environment.
  
This year, on the second day of the SSC examination, 3,47,958 candidates were supposed to appear in 438 centers under the Dhaka Board, but 3,44,062 candidates participated meaning 3,896 candidates remained absent in the examinations.
 
A total of 1,69,306 candidates took part in the SSC exams under Chattogram Board out of 1,71,162 examinees. A total of 1,856 candidates were absent. 
 
Out of 1,52,371 students, a total of 1,50,432 were present at 273 examination centers in Cumilla Education Board. Of them, 1,939 examinees remained absent. 
 
A total of 1,33,462 candidates appeared at 299 examination centers of Jashore Education Board out of 1,35,471 students. Of them, 2,009 examinees were absent.
 
Out of 1,29,199 students, 1,27,851 examinees participated at 219 examination centers of Chattogram Board. 1,348 examinees were absent.
 
A total of 82,277 candidates participated in the 154 examination centers of Sylhet Education Board out of 83,211 candidates. Of them, 934 candidates were absent.
 
Out of 81,273 candidates, a total of 80,021 candidates participated in the 194 examination centers of Barishal Education Board. Of them, 1,252 candidates were absent. 
 
Out of 1,60,582 candidates, a total of 1,59,215 students were present in the 280 examination centers of Dinajpur Education Board. Of them, 1,367 were absent. 
 
A total of 95,339 took part in the 156 examination centers of the Mymensingh Education Board out of 96,366 students. Of them, 1,027 candidates were absent.
 
Besides, a total of 247,889 out of 258,379 students were present at 725 examination centers under Madrasah Education Board. Of them, 10,490 students remained absent. 
 
Out of the 1,37,064 students who sat for the SSC exams at 699 examination centers in the Technical Education Board, a total of 1,34,239 took part in the examination. Of them, 2,825 candidates were absent.
