DHAKA, April 16, 2025(BSS) - Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU) Prof Dr Md Shahinul Alam today urged the teachers and residents to come forward with enthusiasm for advanced research to enhance the ranking of the university.

"We have to ensure modernization of journal club and digital library, increasing mutual cooperation and understanding at the international level and advanced research," he said while presiding over a meeting on the improvement of the ranking of the university here.

Many things, including research, are related to the ranking of the university, he said, adding that the research is the testimony of truth and the diseases of hundreds and lakhs of people could be prevented through the research.

The meeting was attended, among others by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research and Development) Prof Dr Md Mujibur Rahman Hawlader, Treasurer of the university Prof Dr Nahrin Akhter, Registrar Prof Dr Md Nazrul Islam, Dead of the Medicine Faculty Prof Dr Shamim Ahmed, Dead of the Surgery Department Prof Dr Md Ruhul Amin, Dean of the Basic Science and Para-Clinical Science Prof Dr Md Saifullah Munshi, Dead of the Preventive and Social Medicine Faculty Prof Dr Md Atiqul Haque and Dead of the Pediatric Faculty Prof Dr Md Atiar Rahman.

Senior professors and chairmen of different departments were also present at the meeting.

The meeting discussed on understanding of ranking system, proposed strategic directions and standard operating procedure (SOP).
