DHAKA, April 22, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today forecasted rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty wind in some districts across the country for the next 120 hours, commencing from 9am.
"Rain or thundershowers with lightning and temporary gusty winds are likely in a few places over the Sylhet division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Dhaka divisions, as well as the Cumilla and Noakhali regions," said Meteorologist Afruza Sultana this morning.
The Met office said a trough of low lies over West Bengal to North Bay across Southwestern part of Bangladesh.
Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country, the BMD predicted.
Meanwhile, a mild heat wave is sweeping across the Rajshahi, Pabna, Jashore and Chuadanga districts and may expand further.
Temperature may fall, according to Met office's outlook for next five days.
Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 37.2 degrees Celsius at Jashore in Khulna division and minimum temperature today was recorded 22.4 degrees Celsius at Bandarban in Chattogram division.
The sun sets today at 06:24pm and rises at 05:30am tomorrow in the capital.
