Taiyeb warns about massive cyber attack ahead polls

DHAKA, May 4, 2025 (BSS) - Chief Adviser’s special assistant to the ICT ministry Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb today warned about massive cyber attacks on the digital infrastructures and propagation of rumors and misinformation ahead of the national election.

“Most probably we are going to face largest cyber attack in the country’s history ahead of the national election with the joint attempts of native and foreign forces. There will be vast amounts of misinformation on the social media sites too to misguide people,” Taiyeb said.

He was addressing at a workshop on Digital verification and Fact-Checking at the capitals ICT tower at Agargaon. 

District information officers participated in the workshop. 

Taiyeb called upon the government officials to stay alert from now to confront the attacks.
