DHAKA, May 7, 2025 (BSS) - Education Adviser Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar today emphasized the need to translate higher education books into Bangla to enhance education and research.

He made this remark while unveiling cover of a book titled “Public Administration: Theory and Concept” authored by Nazmunnesa Mahtab, Professor of Department of Women and Gender Studies of Dhaka University (DU) and Rokeya Chair of Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC).

The programme was held at the Professor Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium on Dhaka University campus.

Rafiqul Abrar said majority of higher education books are written in English, and translating them into Bangla is essential for advancing education and research excellence.

To facilitate this, he expressed the intention to establish a “Translation Bureau”.

The adviser also highlighted that the book authored by Prof. Nazmunnesa Mahtab would serve as an inspiration for young teachers and researchers.

The book, structured into three sections, explores diverse definitions and key topics related to public administration, along with various aspects of Bangladesh's administrative system, he said.

It will serve as a valuable resource for studying subjects such as public administration, political science, management, business administration, and leadership studies, he added.
