Barishal beat Rajshahi for first victory in NCL

DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) - Barishal secured their first victory in the ongoing 
27th National Cricket League (NCL) after thrashing Rajshahi by 54 runs at 
Khulna Divisional Stadium today.

Chasing a victory target of 246, Rajshahi were wrapped up for 191 and 
conceded their second defeat in the third match.

Tanvir Islam who took a five-for in the first innings and Yeasin Arafat 
jointly led the charge with four wickets apiece while Ruyel Mea ended with 2-
36.

Rajshahi made a good start to the chase with Mizanur Rahman and captain 
Sabbir Hossain putting on 59 runs for the opening stand but Yeasin Arafat 
removed both of them to spark the collapse.

Mizanur was the first to go with 25 and Sabbir soon followed him with 33.
Tanvir then ripped through the middle order with two batters bagging duck.

Rahim Ahmed who made 33 and Nihaduzzaman who scored 29 tried to resist but 
Yeasin came back with fire again to dismiss both of them, ensuring the 
victory of Barishal.

Put into bat first, Barishal earlier were bowled out for 212 in the first 
innings and conceded a 23-run lead when Rajshahi replied with 235 all out.

Barishal then put on 268 in the second innings, setting Rajshahi 246 for 
victory.
