ETV chairman Abdus Salam gets acquitted in graft case

DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today acquitted ETV chairman Abdus Salam in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
 
Judge Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun of Dhaka Special Judge Court-5 passed the order as the charges brought against Salam were not proved.
 
According to the case documents, the ACC issued a notice on Abdus Salam on November 21, 2016, for filing his wealth statement within the next seven working days. Salam, however, failed to comply with the order in spite of taking time on multiple occasions. 
 
ACC deputy director Md Samsul Alam, on April 13, 2017, filed the case with the Ramna Police Station. Investigation officer and ACC deputy director Md Nurul Huda, on February 25, 2025, filed a charge-sheet in the case. 
 
The court, on different hearing dates, examined a total of nine witnesses.
