AL leader arrested in Faridpur

FARIDPUR, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS) – The acting president of the district Awami League Md. Faruk Hossain, was arrested on Monday evening from a house in Jhiltuli area of the district town.

He was produced before the court on Tuesday afternoon.

Superintendent of Police Md. Abdul Jalil at a press conference held in the conference room of his office this afternoon said that former MP Md. Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon gave Taka five lakh to Faruk Hossain to make the Dhaka lockdown on November 13 a success. 

Out of this, he spent Taka four lakh. Besides, there are a total of six cases against Faruk Hossain, including four in Faridpur Kotwali Police Station and two in the capital's Sutrapur Police Station.

He further stated that a new case will be registered against Hossain under the Anti-Terrorism Act in connection with these activities.
