Candidate Master Omnia Binte takes solo lead

DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS)- Woman Candidate Master Omnia Binte Yusuf Lubaba 
took solo lead with 3.5 points from four matches in girls Under-18 group of 
the Commonwealth Chess Championship 2025 which is now being held in Kuala 
Lumpur, Malaysia.
 
Woman Candidate Master Warisa Haider in the girls Under-10 category, Sidratul 
Muntahana Nafi in the girls Under-12 category and Azaan Mahmood in Open 
Under-8 categories shared the second position in their respective categories 
with a total of three points after the fourth rounds.
 
In the Open Under-10 category, Rayan Rashid Mugdho shared the third position 
with three points.

In the open category, FIDE Master Syed Mahfuzur Rahman earned 2.5 points from 
four games, Tashriq Saihan Shan bagged two points from the same number of 
outings, Md. Zayan Khan in the Open Under-14 category and Safayat Kibria 
Azaan in the Open Under-12 category secured two points each, Jannatul Preety 
in the girls' Under-16 group earned 1.5 points.
 
In the girls' Under-8 group, Alisha Haider, however, did not get any points.

The fourth round games were held today (Tuesday) with WCM Omnia Binte Yusuf 
Lubaba defeated Kaloki Zuri of Kenya, Sidratul Muntahana Nafi beat Adams 
Ciara of South Africa, Tashriq Saihan Shan outclassed Parenzee Ethan of South 
Africa, FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman drew with Siddharth Sai of Singapore, Safayat 
Kibria Azaan drew with Motau Neelo South Africa, Rayan Rashid Mughdo drew 
with Nidhish Shyamal of India, Azaan Mahmood drew with Basyayake Kevon 
Dulkith of Sri Lanka, WCM Warisa Haider lost to Vanshika Rawat of India, 
Jannatul Preety lost to Xu Laura of Australia, Md. Zayan Khan lost to Wong 
Xiang Liang of Malaysia and Alisha Haider lost to Kgwale Keratilwe of South
