DHAKA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS)- The Department of World Religions and Culture 
(WRC) of the Dhaka University (DU) today awarded research grants and 
scholarships worth Taka 5.8 lakh to 18 of its students.

The department, in collaboration with the Darul Irfan Research Institute, 
organised the grant and scholarship distribution ceremony at the department's 
auditorium.

DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Mamun Ahmed attended the event as the chief guest and handed over the scholarship cheques to the recipients. 

Among the awardees were two PhD researchers, one MPhil researcher, two MA research monograph students, and 13 recipients of the Syed Delwar Hossain 
Maizbhandari Memorial Scholarship and Syed Emdadul Haque Maizbhandari 
Research Scholarship.

Chairman of the WRC Department Md Abu Sayeem presided over the event.

The recipients of the research grants and scholarships are Md. Robiul 
Hossain, Mejbah Ul Alam, Muhammad Ali Azgar, Tasmia Hossain, Mehzabin Ahmed, Bipul Pal, Mst Mishkat Jahan Sristy, Kumari Puja Karmakar, Mst Taslima Haque, Rumi Parvin, Nur Nahar Khatun, Obaidullah, Mst Sharmin Sultana Sima, Hafsa Binte Helal, Md. Faruk Mia, Md. Anik Mia, Seema Rani Mahato, and Asma Sultana Liza.
