BCL leader held in Khulna

KHULNA, Nov 11, 2025 (BSS)- Police arrested a local leader of the banned 
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student wing of Awami League (AL), in 
front of Boyra Women College in the city this afternoon.

The arrested was identified as Sajjadul Alam Saker, vice-president of 
Sonadanga Model Thana unit of BCL in Khulna, Taimur Islam, officer-in-charge 
(OC) of the Detective Branch (DB) of police under Khulna Metropolitan Police 
(KMP).

Taimur Islam said the banned faction of BCL had been plotting subversive 
activities to create unrest in the city recently and "Saker was directly 
involved in organizing such activists". 

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the DB, Khulna conducted a raid in the area 
and arrested him, he said, adding, "During preliminary interrogation, Saker 
provided some vital information, which is now being verified."

The arrested was taken to the DB office here for further interrogation, the 
OC added.
